As the holiday season is fast approaching, one of the things we are most thankful for is our clients and what better way to express our gratitude than through a gift of appreciation. No matter how big or small, you are showing your clients that you value their business and relationship with you.
Thinking Outside the Gift Box.
When selecting the perfect client holiday gift, it doesn’t necessarily have to be holiday-themed or sent out during the holiday season. Showing your clients you appreciate their business can be spread throughout the year.
Practical and Relevant. Think about the things you use on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis that if given as a gift, would be used regularly and keep your brand close at hand. Although fidget spinners, pens, and koozies are fun and somewhat useful gifts, they don’t make a statement. Putting thought into your client gifts will not only make them impactful but at the same time, keep your brand fresh in their minds. Some meaningful gifts such as Yoga mats, Yeti, CamelBak, or RTIC tumblers and water bottles, Fitbits or some other form of activity tracker, and earbuds are all great gifts that your clients will use on a regular basis.
Personalize It. Find gifts that are personal to both you and your client. Some examples are a nice leather Journal with a personal note inside, a calendar with handwritten notes on specific dates, a trendy backpack that is filled with goodies that pertain to their business or a notepad with artwork that you have either designed for the client that year or a designed dual logo to show a graphic representation of your relationship with them
Budgeting with a Leveled Purpose.
It’s extremely hard to come up with a “blanket amount” to spend on each client because each client represents a different level of revenue for your company so coming up with a leveled system of giving is very beneficial and cost-effective. Keeping it simple is the key. Having 3 levels of giving with a standard gift for each level keeps it simple and within your budget. Throughout your process, keep in mind that quality over quantity is very important as a nice gift will leave a lasting impression with your clients.
Make it Count.
Throughout your gift selection process, focus on the purpose of why you are sending client gifts and that is to show your appreciation and to thank them for their loyal business. Whatever you give or however you deliver your gifts, the message will be clear and give your gift a purpose.
A small investment in your clients now can be beneficial for years to come and especially if it’s done right with thought and creativity behind it.
